5/21/2025
FOLEY, AL – In celebration of National Doctors’ Day, Baldwin Health has made a $6,000 community investment in honor of its dedicated medical staff. The hospital is proud to present $3,000 each to the Child Advocacy Center and SeaGlass Initiative, two local organizations doing vital work to strengthen the health and well-being of the Baldwin County community. Doctors’ Day, observed annually on March 30, is a time to recognize the commitment, compassion, and contributions of physicians who dedicate their lives to healing and care. This year, Baldwin Health physicians chose to mark the occasion by giving back—supporting efforts that align with their mission of caring for the whole person and the broader community. The Child Advocacy Center serves as a safe haven and resource for children who are victims of abuse, providing critical services like forensic interviews, trauma therapy, and advocacy. Meanwhile, SeaGlass Initiative focuses on transitional housing and rehabilitation support for women impacted by addiction and trauma, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
“We are proud to honor our physicians not just through recognition, but through meaningful action that reflects their commitment to care, ” said a Baldwin Health spokesperson. “Supporting these two organizations allows us to extend the impact of our medical staff into the community, where healing, safety, and hope are needed most.”
Doctors’ Day began in 1933 in Winder, Georgia, as a tribute to Dr. Crawford Long, who was among the first to use ether anesthesia in surgery. It has since grown into a national observance, spotlighting the essential role doctors play in individual lives and community health. Baldwin Health is proud to celebrate its physicians—not only for their expertise and compassion within hospital walls but for their impact that reaches far beyond, through partnerships that reflect healing in action.
