South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Receives 2017 Outstanding Patient Experience Award
4/17/2017
South Baldwin Regional Medical Center is a recipient of the Healthgrades 2017 Outstanding Patient Experience Award™. This distinction places South Baldwin Regional Medical Center among the top 15 percent of hospitals nationwide based on an analysis of patient satisfaction data. South Baldwin Regional Medical Center was one of seven Alabama hospitals to receive this distinction.
To determine its 2017 Outstanding Patient Experience Award recipients, Healthgrades evaluated the 3,489 hospitals that submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), covering admissions from April 2015 – March 2016 in order to identify hospital performance in this area.
"Our entire healthcare team is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for each patient," said Keith Newton, South Baldwin Regional Medical Center CEO. "We are honored that our patients share their positive experiences through these surveys, which cover everything from cleanliness, quietness, communication with physicians and nurses, and pain management. Providing an outstanding experience is one way we fulfill our mission to improve the quality of our patients' lives."
Healthgrades is an independent healthcare ratings organization. Hospitals cannot opt out of its analysis, and no hospital pays to be evaluated. Its website, Healthgrades.com, offers comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.
“More than ever before, consumers have access to transparent information to assess care quality before making important healthcare decisions,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “It’s not surprising that consumers are more satisfied with hospitals that prioritize communication between patients and staff. It is a very important aspect of the provider-patient relationship and hospitals that invest in creating a highly communicative culture appeal to consumers.”
