Amanda Calhoun, M.D., joins South Baldwin Medical Group

(Foley, AL – September 20, 2016) – South Baldwin Regional Medical Center announces Dr. Amanda Calhoun as South Baldwin Medical Group’s newest pediatrician. Dr. Calhoun focuses on providing excellent medical care while partnering with parents to help raise healthy children, both physically and emotionally. She supports establishing a medical home for children so they may benefit from a continuity of care.
Dr. Calhoun received her undergraduate degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology with a minor in anthropology from Emory University. She earned a Doctorate of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine. After graduating in 2012, Dr. Calhoun completed her pediatric residency at Louisiana State University, LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Dr. Calhoun enjoys treating children from newborns to 17 years of age. She specializes in pediatric wellness visits and acute illnesses, sports and school physicals, immunizations, developmental screenings, pediatric behavioral health, ADHD care, teen reproductive health, asthma and allergy treatment, nutritional counseling, vision testing and care for premature infants.
Outside the office, Dr. Calhoun enjoys gardening, scuba diving, swimming, cooking, shopping for antiques and traveling the world.
