South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees Appoints New Member

(Foley, AL) – Donna Givens has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, effective immediately. She has served as a member of the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Patient and Family
Advisory Council for two years.
The Board of Trustees meets every month and is responsible for overseeing the hospital’s progress toward strategic and quality goals; supporting medical staff development and fostering positive community relationships.
Donna Givens is a native and lifelong resident of Baldwin County. An alumnus of Robertsdale High School and the University of Mobile, joined Baldwin Electric Membership Corporation (Baldwin EMC) in 1973, and currently serves as the Senior Governmental, Economic Development and Community Services Administrator.
Givens is a past chairman of Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance, Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross and was the first woman to chair the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce as their 49th Chairman. She has also served on the board of directors of Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Baldwin County and Habitat for Humanity. Givens has been appointed by Governor Bob Riley to the USS Alabama Battleship Commission and served on the Gulf State Park Planning Committee appointed by University of Alabama and Governor Bentley. In 2014, she was honored as the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce “Woman of the Year.” In 2015, Givens received the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance Leadership Award for twenty years of service. She also received the Jack Jenkins Service award from Alabama Rural Electric Association in 2016. Givens is a graduate of the Leadership Baldwin County Program and the recipient of Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fellow Award as a member of the Robertsdale Rotary Club.
Currently, Givens serves as vice chairman of the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of South Baldwin Chamber, Baldwin County Emergency Food and Shelter, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Personnel, Commission District #3 Board of Adjustment, Coastal Alabama Partnership, GUMBO-Gulf United Metro Business Organization, HATCH Fairhope, and Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance Foundation.
Donna and her husband, Alton are members of Loxley First Baptist church, have four children and seven grandchildren and currently reside in Loxley.
